Nunez’s first goal in 12 games came against Bournemouth in the League Cup on November 1st, which was his eighth goal of the season.

Returning from a month-long injury layoff, Diogo Jota sealed the win in the closing moments to put Liverpool two points ahead of second-place Arsenal, who still have a game remaining.

“We played an incredible game and then it was just 1-0 for so long, which was really strange!” stated Klopp.

“Nunez is a fantastic finisher, but the system is not the same if a striker fails to score. You doubt everything.

By halftime at Old Trafford, goals from John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker had placed Villa in control, putting United in risk of suffering yet another humiliating loss.

Despite being jeered off at the half, Alejandro Garnacho’s goal—their first in seven hours and twenty minutes—started Erik ten Hag’s team on a much-needed comeback.

With eight minutes remaining, Hojlund finally scored his first Premier League goal in his 15th outing after Garnacho equalized once more.

With a thrilling goal, Hojlund put an end to United’s winless streak of four games in all competitions, moving them up to sixth place in the Premier League.

“I told the guys to ‘keep believing’ at halftime. Between the first and second halves, there was a noticeable shift in the mood. Ten Hag stated, “We can defeat anyone if we play to the best of our abilities.

The surprise title challenge of Villa has taken a hit after two games without a win.
