Manchester United beat Aston Villa 3-2 after a thrilling second half

Manchester United scored three goals in the second half to beat Aston Villa 3-2 in the Premier League on Tuesday. They had given up two goals in the first 26 minutes at Old Trafford.

United had not won or scored in its previous four games across all divisions. They had lost all three of those games. At halfway, United was down 2-0, the mood was bad, and their defense was terrible.

It was McGinn who scored from a free kick on the right. The midfielder’s cross hit the area, bounced, and went straight into the goal without anyone touching it.

In the next five minutes, United made another mistake in defense, allowing Villa to double its lead. From a corner, Dendoncker stuck out his foot to tip Clement Lenglet’s shot over the line.

After halftime, the game changed a lot. Villa, who was in third place, looked like they were going to move up to second place and tie Liverpool for first place in points.

At the end of the first half, Garnacho thought he had scored to tie the game, but VAR stopped him from celebrating because he was offside.

He didn’t have to wait long, though, because United put a lot of pressure on him.

Rasmus Hojlund celebrates scoring his first league for United.

Markus Rashford was set up by Bruno Fernandes on the left, and he crossed the ball to Garnacho, who was on the move, who scored at the far post in the 59th minute.

When Garnacho scored his second goal in the 71st minute, Old Trafford went crazy. Fernandes played a part again; his cross was deflected and fell to Garnacho in the box. After another bounce, the forward’s shot went past Emiliano Martinez in goal for Villa.

In the 82nd minute, Hojlund scored his first league goal since moving from Atalanta for $82 million in the off-season. It was a left-footed shot from a corner kick.

The home fans went crazy with joy, and Ten Hag did the same from the sidelines.

“I’m so glad the strikers scored today; we needed that,” Ten Hag said. “That is something I know Rasmus, Rashford, and Garnacho can do.” They can all finish well, and we have more than that. Every game they have to show it.
