LA Galaxy interested in $10m-rated River Plate starlet, who they’ve been tracking for ‘months’

According to Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, the Galaxy are in ‘advanced’ talks with the 22-year-old, whom they have been following for’months.’ Solari added five goals and seven assists to his River Plate CV in 2023, giving him a career total of 20 goals in 66 appearances for the Argentine club.

The Galaxy are now undergoing a roster change in what is perhaps the most critical offseason in the club’s history, having previously worn the jerseys of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David Beckham, Robbie Keane, and Steven Gerrard. Their worst-ever season as an organization was 2023, when they missed the playoffs and finished with an 8-12-14 record. They kick off their 2024 season against Inter Miami and Lionel Messi, and as of now, they don’t have a roster that can compete with the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner’s squad.

Chicharito Hernandez, a Mexican legend, and ex-Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa are among the recent departures as the club seeks to build a younger roster.

Solari began his career at Talleres before joining Colo Colo in 2020, where he scored seven goals in 27 games. He subsequently joined River Plate in 2022 and has been a huge success at forward ever since.

The MLS team will continue to prepare for the 2024 season, which might involve Solari and others. Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has also been linked to the club, which is desperate for attacking reinforcements.
