Chelsea enters the race to sign €40 million Real Madrid target

Chelsea are said to be interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong.

Over the past year, the 23-year-old has been superb for the Bundesliga club, and his performance has piqued the interest of the London club.

According to Fichajes, Chelsea will face competition from Real Madrid, who are also looking to buy a great right back.

The defender has 7 goals and 10 assists in all competitions so far and is valued at €40 million.

Chelsea are looking for a replacement for Reece James, who has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons. Frimpong would surely be an excellent addition, and Mauricio Pochettino could assist him in developing into a world-class fullback.

The 23-year-old will undoubtedly aid Chelsea in the future, and the possibility to move to the Premier League will be appealing to him.
