Bernardo Silva of Manchester City has stated that a return to Benfica is in his future plans.
Bernardo wishes to spend his final days with Benfica.
“Of course, I want to return, and I hope it happens one day […], but at the moment it would be impossible because Manchester City would demand a lot of money,” according to him.
“I am a player worth more than 50 million euros.” No Portuguese team can afford that amount. If I return, it will be at the end of my contract.
“When I was younger, I saw Barça with young players like Xavi, Iniesta, and Messi, and they were coached by Pep.” That provided me with motivation. Obviously, seeing a Barcelona game was inspiring, and one of my objectives was to be coached by Pep.”
Bernardo also cited City colleague Erling Haaland being overlooked for the Ballon d’Or.
“If Bayern wins the Champions League, the Bayern striker who scored 40 goals this season will win the Ballon d’Or,” he said. City has won the Champions League… It wasn’t by luck that Haaland won the World Cup, as (Lionel) Messi did. Haaland would have won the Ballon d’Or if it hadn’t been for Messi’s World Cup.”
