According to sources, Manchester United has received a large bid for Mason Greenwood ahead of the January transfer window. The Old Trafford giants’ reaction, however, could reveal Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s ambitions for Greenwood after taking complete control of all football operations from the Glazer family.

The INEOS founder must wait up to six weeks for the Premier League to ratify the arrangement, although he must approve any football choices before taking office.

Greenwood’s future will be one of Ratcliffe’s most significant early decisions when he returns to Getafe on loan.

And he appears to want more time to think about how to handle the 22-year-old forward following the spectacular summer U-turn on his reintegration at Old Trafford.

According to The Sun, Getafe are so eager to beat United to Greenwood’s signature that they have notified United that they want to conclude a £40 million deal in January.

AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Real Madrid are rumored to be interested in the former Manchester United No. 11 following his outstanding achievements in Spain.

According to the source, United wants to preserve Greenwood’s move as a loan for the time being in the hopes that he can continue to generate interest and restore his value.

Greenwood had been out of commission for 18 months following his arrest in January 2022. He was then charged with attempted rape, assault, and coercive control, all of which he denied.

The Crown Prosecution Service dropped all allegations against him in February of this year after crucial witnesses withdrew, allowing him to continue his job.
