Manchester United is reportedly more interested in Joshua Zirkzee, a striker, than in Serhou Guirassy, according to German publication Sport1.

Zirkzee, 22, is presently leading Bologna, having tallied eight goals and two assists in 18 games this season.

He scored four goals in his debut season at Bayern Munich before relocating permanently to Bologna in 2022.

Zirkzee, who only scored twice for Bologna in the previous campaign, is now settling into his routine and displaying the form that earned him 18 goals when on loan at Anderlecht in 2021–2022.

Zirkzee is a player with great potential who can be a full attacker even at the age of 22.

According to Souleyman Ozturk, a reporter for Voetbal International, “Zirkzee is better than Erling Haaland at everything” last summer.

Bologna Sport News cited the comparison as being laudatory, made by former Italy international Francesco “Ciccio” Graziani: “Technically he is very good and has shown that he sees the goal.” I feel like I see Dennis Bergkamp, a Dutchman, in Zirkzee; his skill made your eyes sparkle.

The Dutchman will not find the scenario any more tempting than when Robert Lewandowski blocked his path, and Bayern may not be as eager to recruit Zirkzee now that they have the prolific striker Harry Kane up front.

An intriguing choice for Manchester United

Manchester United’s duty is made somewhat easy by the release clause, which sets a maximum price for Zirkzee.

Zirkzee, 22, is a young striker with a track record of scoring goals and experience playing for Bayern, a major league team where he has won championships.

He may replace Anthony Martial and enter the game on an equal basis with Rasmus Hojlund, splitting the goal-scoring load.
