Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new owner of Manchester United, has been advised to sell ten players, including Marcus Rashford.
Former Premier League striker Dean Saunders makes the notion, believing that these players have overstayed their welcome. Despite a recent victory over Aston Villa, United’s performances this season have been less than brilliant, prompting calls for a significant reorganization both on and off the field.
Ratcliffe is the man in charge of the upheaval. The INEOS billionaire recently concluded his purchase in the club, taking over football operations.
Saunders has now advised him on which players he should let leave the club. It remains to be seen whether he will listen to the talkSPORT host.
“Rashford has been there for far too long.” “I’ll drive [Anthony] Martial to the airport,” Saunders said (via the Mirror). “Drive him to the airport, Anthony.” Luke Shaw has stayed much too long. [Diogo] Dalot is insufficient. [Raphael] Varane is definitely a terrific player, but it hasn’t worked out for him. Ten Hag’s attempted to eliminate Varane.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has a lot on his plate at Manchester United.
“Jonny Evans is no longer good enough, so there’s a back four.” He’s sought to get rid of [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka. He’s done with Fred. The manager, [Scott] McTominay, has clearly demonstrated that he does not believe he is talented enough, but he scores goals.”
“In my opinion, he’s not good enough to play for Manchester United.” If you play midfield for Manchester United, you have to be one of the best in the world. You’re not a Crystal Palace player!”
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has advised Marcus Rashford to leave the club.
Saunders then mentioned Red Devils outcast Jadon Sancho as the tenth player to join the exodus, despite the fact that the £72million signing had not played since August due to a feud with Ten Hag.
“I’m just thinking off the top of my head… Sancho, Antony, Martial, you’re looking at what, £200m or something like that just for them?” Wales international with 75 caps added. “Passengers. Passengers without a doubt.”
While none of those ten players will be sold during the January transfer window, a handful may leave at a later point. Wan-Bissaka, Varane, and Martial will all be out of contract at the end of the season unless United intervenes.
Jadon Sancho appears to be on his way out of the club.
Ratcliffe must be consulted on all contract and transfer decisions next month as part of the agreement, which has still to be approved by the Premier League.
