Not happy even though Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Luton, Thiago Silva told cameraman to leave him alone

After Chelsea’s 3-2 triumph over Luton Town on Saturday, Thiago Silva begged a cameraman to leave him alone. Despite the triumph, the Brazilian was unhappy and unleashed his rage on teammate Enzo Fernandez.

Chelsea narrowly won back-to-back Premier League games. On 70 minutes, Mauricio Pochettino’s team led 3-0 thanks to a magnificent Cole Palmer goal, the summer signing’s second of the afternoon.

Luton Town were the better team in the second half, refusing to give up. VAR ruled out a goal for offside in the build-up for Elijah Adebayo before they eventually pulled one back.

Ross Barkley, a former Blue, scored off an Alfie Doughty corner. Adebayo then scored as Doughty’s header was just parried into his path by Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.

Luton tried for an equalizer but were unable to get it. Chelsea were relieved when the final whistle blew, but their defensive stalwart was not pleased.

Silva was alone in the center circle, stunned by what he had witnessed from his teammates in the final 20 minutes of the game. A lone cameraman was nearby, but the 39-year-old appeared to push the camera away and request that he leave him alone.

Seconds thereafter, another camera captured Silva yelling at Fernandez, with Conor Gallagher nearby. Silva talked to Fernandez, who came on as a replacement in the 81st minute, with his palms outstretched.

Lucy Ward, a co-commentator, noted Silva’s emotion. “He won’t be happy,” she predicted. He made an excellent defense. I believe they would struggle if he was not present. He’s not thrilled with the camera either.” Fernandez looked to take Silva’s criticism on the chin and wrapped his arm around the Brazilian, who reciprocated as they slowly moved over to the other bench.

When speaking to BT Sport after the game, Pochettino was asked about Silva’s reaction. But he didn’t mind, saying, “But Thiago is like this, he has his own character.”

“Thiago’s personality is that he is always moaning and never happy.” But that’s a good thing; he’s 39 years old and still playing. Oh my God, oh my God, he’s so professional.”
