Following his departure from Old Trafford, Manchester United legend David De Gea may retire.
David De Gea is still looking for a new club.
After 12 years at United, the Spaniard left last summer.
De Gea, who signed from Atletico Madrid in 2011 for £18 million, has yet to find a new club and has turned down repeated offers.
The 33-year-old has returned to Manchester and even attended a match featuring Manchester United’s women’s squad in November.
De Gea turned down a transfer to Inter Milan to replace Andre Onana, who had taken his place at Old Trafford.
Saudi Arabia has expressed interest, but De Gea is hesitant to leave his family, who will not accompany him to the Middle East.
De Gea is an unrestricted free agent.
According to the Athletic, De Gea seriously considered retiring after leaving Old Trafford, and then again after the transfer window closed in September.
Despite the fact that De Gea is a free agent, the closure of the transfer window signaled the end of clubs wanting to sign a first-choice goalkeeper.
Though opportunities have arisen at clubs such as Newcastle as a result of Nick Pope’s injury, De Gea does not want to be an understudy in his last years.
As a result, the Spaniard is contemplating retirement, and it will take an intriguing offer from the United States or a famous team in Europe to persuade him otherwise.
