Salah sent a warning message to Man City after his brace against Newcastle

Following Monday night’s win over Newcastle, Liverpool now leads the Premier League by three points.

Manchester City is now five points behind leaders Liverpool, despite having a game in hand. Jurgen Klopp will be without Mohamed Salah for a lot of games this month as he travels to Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Salah finished with two goals and a message about Liverpool’s involvement in the title hunt. As he departs, Kevin De Bruyne is once again on the verge of a return to City, something Klopp has joked about.

Salah has cautioned City that the Liverpool players believe they can win the Premier League this season.

In recent seasons, City and Liverpool have developed a heated rivalry, with the duo frequently competing for the Premier League title. Liverpool had a rare wobble last season, failing to finish in the top four as City defeated Arsenal in the title race to win their third consecutive league title.

The two are scheduled to meet again this season, with Liverpool presently leading City by five points at the top of the league.

Klopp cracks a joke on Kevin De Bruyne

Klopp quipped that ‘the whole country is starting to quake’ as City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne nears a comeback from injury.

De Bruyne hasn’t played for the champions since the first-day victory over Burnley. The Belgian has been out since suffering a recurrence of a hamstring issue against Turf Moor.

City fans were ecstatic to see De Bruyne selected to the bench for Saturday’s easy win over Sheffield United, even though Pep Guardiola admitted before the game that the midfielder would not be making his second appearance of the season.
