As talk of a potential transfer for Kylian Mbappe resurfaces, Jurgen Klopp has previously ruled it out.
For years, the French striker has been linked with a move to Anfield, and his future is now being discussed once more. Mbappe’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he is now free to speak to international clubs about a Bosman transfer.
The striker has also stated that he is yet to make a decision about his future. While Liverpool remains linked, Klopp has already ruled out a deal for Mbappe.
“We laugh about it,” Klopp told Sky Germany in August, following yet another link. “I think he’s a really good player, but the financial circumstances don’t work for us.” I don’t want to ruin the story right now, but as far as I know, there’s nothing to it.
“It’s possible that someone else from the club is planning something and wants to surprise me… that hasn’t happened in the eight years I’ve been here.” That would be the first time.”
While Liverpool do not appear to be interested in signing Mbappe anytime soon, they have previously attempted to do so. Mbappe stated in 2022, “I talked to Liverpool because it’s my mother’s favorite club, my mother loves Liverpool.”
“I don’t know why; you’ll have to ask her!” It’s a good club, and we met them five years ago. I met them in Monaco. It’s a massive club.”
Mbappe is presently enjoying another amazing season with PSG. He has 22 goals in 23 appearances for the French club, including a goal in their Trophee des Champions triumph over Toulouse.
With Klopp seemingly ruling Liverpool out of the race, Real Madrid may be able to enter. The Spanish giants were on the verge of signing Mbappe in the summer of 2022, only for the striker to sign a new contract in Paris.
Florentino Pérez was enraged by the decision and slammed the forward. Real’s interest, however, persists. Carlo Ancelotti, on the other hand, has been tight-lipped regarding a potential deal.
When asked about Mbappe, the Italian told reporters, “I don’t recognize you, you must be one of the new ones who doesn’t know that I won’t speak about that [Mbappe].” “I’m not going to get into that.”
