The England international, who joined United for £75 million ($95 million) in the summer of 2021, has been ruled out of the 2023-24 season. Sancho has not played for United since August 26 after being accused by Erik ten Hag of allowing standards to slide in training. He has been compelled to work in the Red Devils’ academy system.

According to Bild, a departure strategy was discovered during the January transfer window. According to reports, Sancho will return to Germany on a short-term deal of £2.6 million, allowing the 23-year-old to resume his professional career in familiar surroundings.

It is reported that a few minor tax matters need to be straightened out before Sancho is free to leave Manchester United, with the possibility that he may join Dortmund at their winter training camp in Marbella on Friday, preparatory to BVB against AZ Alkmaar on Saturday.

Sancho previously has 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances for Dortmund before scoring 12 goals and setting up six more for United in 82 games. He came off the bench three times at the start of the current season, but has been in exile ever since.
