After Messi’s PSG contract expired in the summer, the Argentine player was let go by the French team. A huge deal for the Major League Soccer was made when the 36-year-old made a high-profile move to Inter Miami.

Mbappe has assumed a leading position at PSG following Messi’s departure, particularly since Neymar also departed the defending Ligue 1 champions to join a team in Saudi Arabia.

Mbappe discussed his experience playing with Messi in an interview with Amazon Prime, saying that he sincerely misses his old PSG partner.

When questioned about Messi, Mbappe stated, “I definitely miss playing with Leo Messi a lot.” You always miss having Leo Messi on the field!

“You can be assured that you will get the ball when you play with him, especially if you’re an attacker like myself who enjoys attacking gaps. It was a luxury that you could practically only have from him. Playing with Messi was extraordinary above and beyond that.

Messi was used more as a creator than a goal scorer at PSG during his time there.

Throughout his 58 Ligue 1 games, the Argentine wizard scored 22 goals and supplied 31 assists, a dynamic that Mbappe seemed to value.

The PSG forward won the title of Ligue 1 Player of the Season a few months ago. He credited Lionel Messi’s influence on his growth as a player in his victory speech.

Thank you to each and every player. For us, winning the league is a huge honor. “I would like to express my gratitude to Leo Messi, who has been a huge help to me this season, as well as the staff, management, and people who work behind the scenes,” stated Mbappe.
