Despite Man City’s roster being devastated by illness, Pep Guardiola has issued a warning to Liverpool and Arsenal

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said that four of his players, including Bernardo Silva, are suffering from the same illness. The Sky Blues manager, on the other hand, indicated that Kevin De Bruyne, Jeremy Doku, and Erling Haaland might all return from injury in time for Burnley’s visit to the Etihad Stadium later this month.

Pep Guardiola offered positive Manchester City injury news on Friday.

Liverpool and Arsenal will have hoped that De Bruyne, Doku, and Haaland would be unavailable for as long as possible.

City has been without talisman De Bruyne since the start of the season. The Belgian has been the driving force behind Guardiola’s trophy-laden stint at the Etihad, and Haaland’s goals last season only added to his brilliance.

Meanwhile, since signing from Rennes in the summer, Doku has been a big success on the left side. The reigning treble champions have been missing all three players for several weeks, and while Guardiola has stressed that they would not be rushed back into action, a provisional return date of January 31 has been set.

Last season, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland forged a deadly partnership.

“They have all spent the last two or three training sessions with us,” he said during a press conference on Friday. “Jeremy is in great spirits. Kevin is also in the room.

“Kevin has been out for a long time, so we have to be patient with his physical condition and give him just the right amount of time.” Erling is slightly better. We have to be cautious because [his] problem is with the bone, but he felt OK the next day after the two training sessions he performed.

“They’re all improving. I’m not sure about the games against Huddersfield on Sunday or Newcastle on January 13, but they’ll be ready for the rest.” Guardiola also claimed that John Stones is still not back in training with the first team and may be sidelined for a longer period of time than those on the path to recovery.

As attention turns to City’s FA Cup third-round clash with Huddersfield the following week, several fringe players may have hoped for some valuable playing time. Guardiola did, however, confirm that Kalvin Phillips, Scott Carson, Matheus Nunes, and Bernardo were all sick and might not be able to play.

“Kalvin is ill.” “He has congestion and a fever,” explained the former Barcelona manager. “Unfortunately, we have a few [cases].” Four gamers are encountering difficulties. Rodri’s grandmother passed away yesterday, and he is now in Madrid. He will not be available today or tomorrow. This time of year, Bernardo and Scotty, Kalvin and Matheus Nunes, and many more are unwell.”

City are trying to win the FA Cup for the second time in a row after upsetting archrivals Manchester United in the final last year. They face an in-form Huddersfield Town, who come to the Etihad following two straight defeats.
