South American duo Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez returned to full training at Carrington

Manchester United’s Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez have returned to full training at Carrington as they continue to heal from injuries sustained earlier this season.

Centre-back Licha has been out since the Champions League encounter against Bayern Munich on September 20th, and he informed us last week that his recovery is progressing “perfectly.”

Casemiro, our influential midfielder, has been out since injuring himself during our Carabao Cup match against Newcastle United on November 1.

In recent months, the South American couple has been training individually with medical staff, and their hard work – and patience – is almost paying off.

CASEMIRO AND LICHA RETURN TO TRAINING

On Wednesday, Casemiro and Martinez trained on the grass with the rest of the squad, indicating that they are getting closer to returning to action.

Erik ten Hag informed media at a news conference last Friday that the Argentina and Brazil internationals are expected to return in January. It remains to be known when that will occur.

In that same press conference, the boss also stated that Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia, and Mason Mount are all working toward the same deadline.

United have two games this month: an Emirates FA Cup third-round matchup against Wigan Athletic on Monday, January 8th, and a Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, January 14th.

Following a brief Christmas break, assuming the Reds defeat Wigan, our next FA Cup match will be played at the end of the month.
