The 21-year-old participated in our preseason tour of the USA last season and had an incredible loan period at Sunderland before a knee injury ended his growth.

Amad came off the bench in the second half of last Saturday’s game at The City Ground to make his first appearance for the team since the UEFA Champions League match against Young Boys in December 2021, having worked hard on his recuperation.

Amad acknowledged his happiness to be able to play on the field again this weekend and stated that he hopes to play in United’s opening match of 2024 against Wigan Athletic.

On Monday, January 8, the Emirates FA Cup third-round match will take place at the DW Stadium as we want to start the year with a road victory.

In an exclusive interview, Amad told club media, “I can come back stronger.” “We need to win every game, so come back to the team even more motivated to help.” United must prevail in every match. Since we are a large team, everyone must fight for the group. I return thus more determined, prepared, and strong.

“My regimen involved receiving therapy every morning and then going to the gym to concentrate on my legs and upper body. I had that as my backup plan when I got hurt.

“Because Lisandro Martinez was hurt as well, he really assisted me. Whenever we are at training, he always says to me, “It’s nothing, Amad.” Continue working out hard. Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez as well. They make effective leaders. Everyone was incredibly helpful. My physiotherapists were a big help. Thank God, I’m back with the squad again. I’m overjoyed.

He remembered, “I went with the team and did team training on December 1st after having a month off with the physiotherapist to train alone.” “That’s why I was so happy to come back to the team after my injury.”

Although Amad acknowledges that it is difficult to watch from the sidelines, he was eager to help the team while he was away.

Yes, it can be difficult at times, he acknowledged. Sometimes it’s alright because you have to maintain your optimism. You are aware that maintaining a happy attitude each day is essential. You must explain that because of my injury, I must assist the team and everyone.

“You know, everyone deserves to play, but I was focused on getting back to the squad and supporting the team as soon as possible. Therefore, it can be challenging to watch a game while you are not present, but you must remain optimistic in the hopes that you will win that day.”
