There was a moment during Rasmus Hojlund’s Manchester United debut against Arsenal in September that struck a chord with many fans.
The young Dane was ruffling the Gunners’ defenders’ feathers, earning a passionate and admiring grapple from veteran teammate Casemiro.
When speaking to club media recently, the Brazil captain discussed this as well as his opinions on the striker’s potential, who scored his first Premier League goal in his last game, the winner against Aston Villa, after five strikes in the UEFA Champions League.
“At the end of the day, he’s just a kid, so we shouldn’t be putting a lot of pressure on him,” said Casemiro. “A lot of people believe he should come in and score 30-odd goals right away.”
“He’s still young, and this is his first Premier League season.”
“With regard to the film you described, I was quite pleased with his demeanor. The issue is, coming on in such a tough game as games against Arsenal is extremely difficult.
“When he entered the fray, he contributed a lot, changing our dynamic, so I tried to express to him just how I was feeling,” added the midfielder, who is battling back from an injury layoff.
“He’s definitely improving in every game, and he’s working extremely hard.” Rasmus is a hard worker who is eager to get started.
“He’ll be a great player for this club and, with the ambitions he has, he could define an era at Manchester United.”
After missing the setback against Nottingham Forest due to sickness, Hojlund will seek to make his Emirates FA Cup debut against Wigan Athletic on Monday at the DW Stadium.
