In Jarell Quansah’s injury report, Jurgen Klopp cites two Liverpool players who were ‘really friendly’

According to Jurgen Klopp, Jarell Quansah ‘jarred his back’ in Liverpool’s FA Cup victory over Arsenal.

The 20-year-old put up another impressive performance as the Reds won 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium to move to the competition’s fourth round. Quansah was a late replacement for Virgil van Dijk, who had to withdraw due to illness.

Liverpool were also missing a center-back, Joel Matip, and two left-backs, Andy Roberson and Kostas Tsimikas.

Quansah went down accidently when the game was scoreless in the first half. He needed medical attention before he could continue and reject Arsenal’s formidable front line. That laid the stage for Liverpool to win the game, as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s free kick caused Jakub Kiwior to head into his own net before Luis Diaz secured the win in stoppage time.

Klopp praised Quansah’s effort, as well as the rest of the Liverpool defense. “Top, top,” Reds manager said to reporters. Oh my God, the horrible moment was when Ibou [Konate] was twice down and Jarell went down and pulled his back, twisting it somewhat. Actually, I figured that was it, and it would have been quite impossible to do that early in the game. It was terrific [from Konate and Quansah], Joey [Gomez] was excellent, and Trent was outstanding. Then there’s Ali [Alisson Becker] for those crucial moments.”
