Lupita Nyong’o and Selema Masekela confirmed their romance yesterday. For the holidays, they purchased a multi-million-dollar Los Angeles home.
Nyong’o and Masekela’s 2014 custom-built residence cost around $4 million. Topanga Canyon is an unincorporated community in Malibu’s San Fernando Valley.
The modern steel, glass, and cement structure, complete with solar, backup power, home automation, and filtration systems, is concealed behind a steel-gated driveway on roughly two acres of heavily wooded land at the end of a one-way street. Four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and over 4,000 square feet of three-level living space with floor-to-ceiling glass walls provide ocean, hillside, and canyon vistas.
A fireplace-equipped living area with sliding glass doors to a large balcony stands out, as does a wet bar-equipped dining room. The gourmet kitchen features bamboo cabinetry, quartz countertops, an eat-in island, Viking, Wolf, and Sub-Zero appliances.
Highlights include an upstairs master retreat with a spa-inspired bath, soaking tub, and two-person jetted steam shower, a lower-level media/family room with its own entrance, a second wet bar, and an ensuite bedroom that serves as an office.
The beautifully landscaped grounds include a dining area, fountain, fire pit, and kitchen with a commercial BBQ. Two-car garage with 20 parking spaces.
