PSV Eindhoven have indicated formal interest in loaning Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri. However, the LA Galaxy are also said to be interested in the 22-year-old Uruguayan.
Pellistri joined Manchester United for £9 million in October 2020, but has struggled to establish himself in the first squad. Pellistri had previously completed two loan moves to Spanish club Alaves in order to increase his playing time.
While PSV Eindhoven is interested in signing Pellistri, the Daily Mail reports that the MLS side LA Galaxy will compete for his services during the January transfer window. PSV Eindhoven may be a more appealing alternative for Pellistri, particularly given their present position at the top of the Eredivisie table.
LA Galaxy is presently ranked fifth in the Western Conference, trailing Austin FC, Colorado Rapids, FC Dallas, and the Houston Dynamo.
There were suggestions in the summer that Sheffield United were hoping to sign the Uruguayan on a season-long loan, but that did not materialize, and it does not appear likely this window with the club sitting at the bottom of the table. And they don’t having any domestic loan spots available.
In other news, Jadon Sancho, Manchester United’s second wide offensive option, is set to leave Old Trafford, with a loan deal to Borussia Dortmund on the cards.
