Damian Lillard’s reputation as a “family man” suffers greatly when court documents disclose his separated wife’s startling statement regarding their three children.

Following his trade from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Milwaukee Bucks, Damian Lillard filed for divorce from his wife Kay’la a few days later. The pair just celebrated their second anniversary, so the news shocked the NBA community. The seven-time All-Star used the excuse that there were “irreconcilable differences” in his divorce papers.
But according to records submitted to the Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon, Kay’la appears to have torn Lillard.
“Father has never been the sole parent responsible for the care of all three of our children, for any hours-long period of time without the help of nannies, assistants, and/or family members.
“Father chose when and how much he saw the children while the children lived with me full-time in my home. When Father was in town and not traveling for basketball, publicity, endorsements, or his music endeavors, he would pop over to visit for anywhere between thirty minutes to an hour to play with the kids while I was there or while a nanny was present a few times a week.”
Damian Lillard has been known to go on social media to post photos of himself and his children having a good time. He once had a “dad of all times” caption in one of the IG photos.
Kay’la Lillard had this to say as the reason she chose to keep her silence despite Lillard’s alleged poor parenting:
“I understand he is busy and has many commitments he must attend to. I also understand that the brand ‘Damian Lillard’ needs to continue with an image of a family-man.
