Mbappe misses penalty, PSG grinds out 2-1 victory over Strasbourg

PSG defeats Strasbourg 2-1 with goals from Kylian Mbappe and Marco Asensio. The capital team continues to maintain an unbeaten record away from home in Ligue 1 this season. Mbappe missed a penalty, and PSG secured a hard-fought victory.

Before facing the reigning champions PSG, Strasbourg had been undefeated in their last eight matches across all competitions. The home team at La Meinau posed many difficulties for Mbappe and his teammates. Patrick Viera’s squad played aggressively against PSG. In the first half, Strasbourg had more ball possession but had more goal attempts than PSG, with 8 shots. However, PSG was the team that had the first clear chance of the match.

PSG was clearly on the back foot in the second half, but fortunately for them, goalkeeper Donnarumma made excellent saves. The Italian goalkeeper faced 12 shots from Strasbourg and successfully saved 4 of them, helping PSG maintain their lead until the end of the match.
