Here with Giannis Antetokounmpo is myself, Krysten Peek. Attending the NBPA Brotherhood Deli, sponsored by Chase Freedom, we’re anticipating the upcoming 26 regular season games. What will be the Bucks’ primary objective?GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO: To simply keep improving and forming virtuous habits. Naturally, with all the squad and coaching staff changes, this season has been extremely difficult. But you can’t make an excuse for us. As basketball players, we are still quite skilled at what we do. We still have an excellent squad. forming, as I mentioned, positive behaviours all year round. We need to prepare for 26 games in order to contend for a title.Back-to-back wins as #CaptainGiannis
Kristen Peek: You brought up the four head coach changes over the past six or seven months, I believe. That is something that no other team has had to tolerate or cope with. Do you think you’re moving quickly along with Doc Rivers, and how difficult has it been to immediately align yourself with his vision for the team?Giannis Antetokunompomo: Not at all difficult. It wasn’t hard at all, coaches Dawkins and staff. Their goal in coming here was to triumph. My goal in being here is to succeed. My teammates want to succeed here. It wasn’t difficult either. All we needed to do was tidy up some stuff. It goes without saying that the shift would be difficult because your game plan and principles are different.Everything is just changed in terms of organisation. But ultimately, it seems like he is here to win. He had a great career of game wins. Our goal is to triumph here. And we’ll be fine as long as that’s the first thing on our thoughts. Partnering with people who aspire to victory is simple.Kristen Peek: With an average of 30, 11, and 6, you’re also having a passable season. Some may believe this is a season worthy of an MVP. A few additional names, including Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, are being mentioned. As a gamer, what sets you apart from them?ANTETOKOUNMPO GIANNIS: Null.PEEK KRYSTEN: Not at all.ANTETOKOUNMPO GIANNIS: Null. I had nothing to do. I make an effort to resist that bubble. You know, I’m not going to compare myself to other people and spend my life that way. Despite the fact that there are 7.5 billion people on the planet, I didn’t even have a twin brother. Never would I compare myself to my twin, even if I had one.I make an effort not to get caught up in the idea that, well, I’m the MVP because of this, or that, well, I’m better because of this, or that, well, I received more votes because I’m hotter. And it isn’t the stuff of actual life. I’m attempting to be the greatest partner and father I can be. That’s—that is the truth. That is the actual world.Kristen Peek: Fandom is fueled by the Chase Freedom. Some of your fans will be present for you to meet. How unique is it for you to have face-to-face meetings with fans at All-Star?GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO: You know, it’s unique. You encounter fans all year long, but I find it really difficult to engage with them because, as a person, I’m so devoted to my work and the game. We enter and exit the arena and the cities, as it were. It’s therefore always enjoyable for me to be able to come in here when I have some free time and sit down and chat with the kids, touch them, give them a fist bump, sign t-shirts, or sign hats. This is the purpose of the all-star weekend. I’m glad we can spend some time together, since I believe it’s crucial to engage with our followers. They remain engaged with the game in this way.Kristen Peek: I sincerely appreciate your time, and I wish you well for the remainder of the season.GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO: I’m really grateful.
