Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi spent their time off from PSG in New York, watching the Brooklyn Nets defeat the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.
France advanced to the World Cup final, while Morocco was eliminated in the semi-finals and ended fourth.
They immediately returned from international duty to play in both of PSG’s first two games following the tournament, but the French champions were defeated 3-1 by Lens on Sunday.
Following the match, manager Christophe Galtier announced that Mbappe and Hakimi would be given a few days off to recover after being rushed back from Qatar.
Following that decision, Mbappe and Hakimi traveled to see the Brooklyn Nets and San Antonio Spurs face off in the NBA, with the Nets winning 139-103.
Kevin Durant was the star of the show, scoring 25 points, and the PSG duo posed for photos with him on the court, with Hakimi holding up a Nets shirt.
Mbappe uploaded a photo of the three men on Instagram with the caption ‘Special night’.
Mbappe and Hakimi then met up with the home team again after the game, with the former congratulating the players as he entered the changing room.
‘Awesome game, folks. Congratulations. It was incredibly enjoyable to watch. Mbappe replied, “Good luck for the season,” as he made his way around the locker room.
The Nets are presently second in the Eastern Conference, having won 25 of their 37 games to far.
Meanwhile, PSG will return to action in the French Cup on Friday, when they face Chateauroux.
Galtier may decide that he does not need Mbappe and Hakimi to overcome their lower-league opponents, which means the duo may not play again until PSG’s next Ligue 1 match against Angers on January 11.
