The Bucks are already past the second “tax apron,” so it won’t matter if Middleton receives his bonus or not. It will only have an impact on the Bucks’ 2023–24 luxury tax payment and his 2024–25 cap hit.Due to left Achilles tendinitis, Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was unable to play on Monday.Further: How Giannis Antetokounmpo overcame self-doubt to produce his best-ever basketball performanceDoes Giannis have a game tonight? He currently has left Achilles tendinitis, making him uncertain to play. The MVP candidate had been dealing with some difficulty for a few days, according to Bucks head coach Doc Rivers, before Monday’s pregame warmup, which amply demonstrated Antetokounmpo’s agony. On Wednesday, he was enjoying himself during the team’s shootaround:How far are the Bucks without Giannis?2-1: The Bucks fell to Cleveland on January 17 after defeating Toronto on November 15 and the Los Angeles Clippers on March 4.What date is Khris Middleton’s game?On February 6 in Phoenix, the 32-year-old made a jump jumper that fell on Kevin Durant’s foot. Durant was called for a flagrant foul for swarming Middleton’s landing area. Middleton was out of the game after that, although playing for a few more minutes. Before the squad even got to San Francisco, he was declared out of the Warriors match. This will be Middleton’s 12th straight absence from a game. Although Rivers stated on February 22 that Middleton could play if it were a playoff series and that the three-time all-star has been working out on an individual basis, there hasn’t been any concrete word on when he will return.Rivers did state earlier in the week that the squad is exercising additional caution and that there has been no setback in Middleton’s recuperation.Aside from the impact on wins and losses and the dynamic between players on the court, the injury could still have a financial consequence. In exchange for playing in 62 games, he received a $1.5 million incentive when he re-signed with the Bucks in the offseason. After participating in 43 of the Bucks’ first 51 games, Middleton was well on his way to reaching that criterion; however, he now has to participate in all 19 of the remaining games for the club to qualify.Even if he’s fit, that seems improbable considering that Middleton has only participated in one back-to-back set all season (Jan. 3–4). This season, the Bucks have three more back-to-backs.It’s crucial to remember that Middleton just needs to play for a single second in each of those contests; contract bonuses do not count towards the NBA’s 20-minute requirement for games to be considered for regular season honours. Viewers may recall that in 2022, Jrue Holiday, a former point guard for the Bucks, had to play eight seconds to earn a bonus against Cleveland.
