Manchester United confirmed the news on their official website, commending Mount for his diligent efforts to regain fitness and praising his positive attitude throughout his rehabilitation period.

When asked about Mount’s fitness, manager Erik ten Hag stated that the player is currently in a good spell and is expected to return shortly after the international break. It is likely that he will miss the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool but could potentially be in contention for the match against Brentford on March 30.

This season has been frustrating for the 25-year-old, who was United’s first signing of last summer’s transfer window. He has only made seven starts and five appearances as a substitute.

However, there are signs of improvement in United’s ιnjury situation, as Ten Hag expects Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Maguire, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to return for the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool. Nonetheless, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Anthony Martial, and Tyrell Malacia remain unavailable as the manager prepares for the cup game and the final 10 Premier League fixtures of a season marred by injuries.
