The NBA announced on Monday afternoon that Jayson Tatum has been selected Eastern Conference Player of the Month for October/November for the third time in his career.
Tatum averaged 27.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in October and November, covering the whole season with the exception of Friday’s game against Philadelphia.
So far this season, Tatum is shooting 49.9% from the field and 36.2% from beyond the arc. At the same time, he had a career-high 3.4 turnovers and a career-low 80.5% free throw rate.
The Celtics now have the league’s best record (15-4) and are the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
Other Eastern Conference nominees included Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, Orlando’s Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, New York’s Jalen Brunson, Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, Indiana’s Tyrese Haliburton, and Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell.
Nikola Jokic has been named Western Conference Player of the Month after guiding the Denver Nuggets to a 13-6 record while averaging 29 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game.
