Forward Robert Lewandowski recently opened up about the potential of facing Mbappe in La Liga and expressed his eagerness to reunite with his former team in the Champions League quarter-finals.

In an interview on the Polish YouTube channel Meczyki, Robert Lewandowski discussed the potential transfer of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid and the exciting competition it would create for the top goal scorer title in La Liga:

“It would be fantastic to play against him in La Liga. If this transfer happens, I won’t be afraid and approach it positively.”

There have been rumors that Mbappe will join Real Madrid after the current season. However, Lewandowski might have the opportunity to face the French striker even earlier if the quarter-final draw of the Champions League pairs Barcelona against PSG.

However, the Polish forward didn’t shy away from expressing his desire to compete against his former team, Borussia Dortmund:

“Every team that reaches the quarter-finals is strong. It’s hard to say whom I want to face, but maybe Dortmund? Wouldn’t it be an emotional experience to return there as a Barcelona player?”

Although Lewandowski achieved great success at Bayern Munich, he made a name for himself at Dortmund, enjoying a period of triumph under Jurgen Klopp in the early 2010s.

During the same interview, Lewandowski reaffirmed his intention to continue playing for Barcelona in the upcoming season. This isn’t the first time the Polish striker has been resolute about his future. Last summer, he expressed his desire to conclude his career at Camp Nou, where he feels most at ease.

“I know where I will be playing next season, and I will stay at Barcelona.”

After being eliminated in the group stage for two consecutive seasons, Barcelona’s qualification for the quarter-finals has Lewandowski and his teammates eagerly awaiting the draw scheduled for March 15th in Vietnamese time.
