The teenage Turkey international has had a tough start in Spain, but he nearly wrote himself into Real Madrid history on Saturday with an outrageous goal from the halfway line against Osasuna. Guler shrugged from an opponent challenge before scoring in a move reminiscent of David Beckham’s versus Wimbledon in 1996. Unlike Becks, Guler’s effort struck the crossbar, but that didn’t stop teammate Vinicius from exploding in stun.

In the absence of Jude Bellingham, Vinicius stepped up to the plate on Saturday, scoring the first goal before completing a brace in the second. Dani Carvajal and Brahim Diaz also scored for the visitors, while Ante Budimir and Iker Munoz’s goals were insufficient to prevent Osasuna from losing 4-2. Madrid’s victory restores their vast advantage at the top of La Liga, which will be extended to 10 points if Girona loses to Getafe later on Saturday.
