Manchester United have expressed optimism about Lisandro Martinez’s return from a knee ιnjury in their upcoming match against Brentford on March 30. The 26-year-old defender has had a challenging season, appearing in only ten games for the Red Devils due to various injuries.
After undergoing foot surgery, he made a comeback in January but sustained a knee ιnjury in February, leaving him sidelined. Despite being named in Argentina’s squad for friendly matches, Manchester United clarified that Martinez would not participate.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Martinez is now in the final stages of his rehabilitation and there is hope that he will be available for the match against Brentford. Martinez, signed from Ajax in 2022, has been a valuable addition to the team, making 55 appearances for Manchester United. He faced setbacks in the 2022-23 season due to a fractured metatarsal and subsequent foot surgery.
Now, he aims to regain fitness and contribute to the team’s pursuit of success in the FA Cup and their bid to secure a spot in the Champions League for the 2024-25 season.
