Kylian Mbappe has confirmed that his new club will be announced prior to the start of Euro 2024 on June 14th.
The French national team captain has decided not to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and will sever his ties with the club in June.
As a free agent, Mbappe is widely expected to join Real Madrid, and a deal to bring him to the Spanish capital is nearly finalized.
The ongoing saga has led to an agreement to delay the formal announcement of his transfer until the end of the season or possibly slightly earlier. PSG and Real Madrid can only meet in the UEFA Champions League final this season, so the big reveal may occur before then if either team is eliminated.
When asked about the situation after France’s 2-0 friendly defeat to Germany in Lyon, Mbappe stated that the matter is almost resolved. According to reports from Telefoot via Mundo Deportivo, he said, “People will know about my future before the Euros. I am very calm about it. My future is no longer a major topic at the club, and nobody talks to me about it anymore. I will approach the Euros with a calm mindset, ready to do great things for France.”
France will conclude their current international window with a match against Chile on March 26th.
