Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham squared off at Wembley Stadium in an England-Brazil friendly. Vinicius requested Declan Rice’s jersey from a Real Madrid player following the match.
Brazil defeated England 1-0 in a friendly encounter yesterday, with Vinicius playing a key role in the winning goal by breaking through the Three Lions defense and taking a shot that was blocked by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. Endrick arrived just in time to cushion the ball from close range, securing victory for the South American delegation.
Vinicius and Bellingham switched jerseys in the tunnel, according to a video published on social media. Later, when Bellingham asked his Real buddy if he wanted anyone else’s shirt, Vinicius said “Declan Rice”.
Rice proved in his debut season at Arsenal that he was worth every penny of the £105 million investment. He plays an important role in coach Mikel Arteta’s tactical approach and is on track to win big titles this season.
Although Vinicius expressed an interest in Rice’s shirt, the Brazilian athlete never concealed his adoration for Bellingham. He believes that his present teammate was born and intended to play at Santiago Bernabeu.
“Unbelievable, he was born to play for Real Madrid, to mark a new era in the greatest team in the world,” Vinicius said in October. “I hope he will be here in many years, standing side by side for a long time.” I’m excited to play alongside Bellingham, one of the top young players. We’re all satisfied, and so are the fans.”
Bellingham reciprocated by rating Vinicius, stating: “For me, he is probably the best player in the world.” He is one of the best players I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing with.”
Bellingham and Vinicus are both having excellent seasons with Real at the moment. The former Dortmund midfielder leads the team in scoring with 20 goals and 9 assists in all competitions. Vinicius Jr. finished second with 15 goals and six assists.
Vinicius and Bellingham will return to Real Madrid to prepare for the weekend’s match against Athletic Bilbao, following friendly matches against Spain and Belgium in the coming days.
