Jeff Stelling, a sports presenter, has expressed his support for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite’s potential decision to reject a transfer to Manchester City and instead join Manchester United. Branthwaite is reportedly high on United’s wishlist for the upcoming summer transfer window, as they are looking to strengthen their defense, especially considering the uncertainties surrounding the contracts of current defenders such as Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans. United has been linked to various defenders, but Branthwaite seems to be the preferred choice for INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who are involved with the club. Recent reports have indicated that Manchester City is also monitoring Branthwaite’s situation and may be interested in signing him.
However, Stelling believes that Branthwaite is more likely to end up at Old Trafford due to Everton’s financial needs and his potential fit in United’s defense.
Stelling suggests a transfer fee of around £45 million for Branthwaite. Stelling’s co-host, Ally McCoist, also praised Branthwaite’s abilities and agreed that a move to United would be a logical step for his career.
