Midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni unintentionally spoke about Mbappe conquering Spanish fans while all parties involved kept the information under wraps.
In an interview on Telefoot (France) on March 24th, Aurelien Tchouameni discussed Kylian Mbappe, saying, “Spanish fans know about Kylian, but it is only by following him every day that they can truly appreciate his greatness.”
When the interview was shared in the media, it was perceived as confirmation of Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid. Subsequently, Telefoot had to delete the interview from their social media account.
Earlier, when asked about Mbappe’s transfer on Sky Sports, Tchouameni remained tight-lipped, stating, “Honestly, at the moment, I’m not concerned about that. Let’s wait and see what he does. Currently, he is still a player at PSG. We’ll see what happens.”
Mbappe himself has not yet revealed his future plans out of respect for PSG and his focus on the remaining months of the season. He has set the timeline for announcing his new club before Euro 2024, which takes place from June 14th to July 14th.
“I will go to the Euros with a clear mind and ready to achieve great things,” Mbappe stated.
Mbappe’s contract with PSG expires at the end of the 2023-2024 season. According to French and Spanish media, the 25-year-old forward has reached an agreement to join Real Madrid on a free transfer. Real Madrid will not pay a transfer fee but has agreed to a separate payment of $108 million for Mbappe. Additionally, they will offer Mbappe the highest salary at the Bernabeu, surpassing the $13 million per season earned by Vinicius and Jude Bellingham.
Tchouameni joined Real Madrid in 2022 for a fee of $88 million. He is a close teammate of Mbappe in the French national team. Both players started in the friendly match against Germany, which ended in a 0-2 defeat on March 23rd.
Mbappe has won six Ligue 1 titles and holds the record for scoring 250 goals for PSG. With the French national team, the 25-year-old forward won the 2018 World Cup, reached the final of the 2022 World Cup, and became the top goal scorer in the 2022 World Cup.
