In just three days, the striker dubbed as “prodigy” Endrick scored successive goals for Brazil in friendly matches against England and Spain.
Endrick is already used to scoring goals in his home stadium, the Santiago Bernabeu, which opened on June 30. This under-18 striker needed only 5 minutes on the field to replicate his performance against England at Wembley Stadium three days prior. This time, he scored to make the score 2-2 versus Spain.
Endrick, who is just over 17 years old, is constantly pushing himself to new limits. When he received the ball in the penalty area, he shot with his left foot, hitting the opposing defender and beating goalkeeper Unai Simon.
Endrick scored two goals in two of the world’s most famous stadiums barely over a year ago, when he had yet to make his Palmeiras first team debut.
Endrick was brought on the pitch after the break against Spain to coordinate with Vinicius and Rodrygo, who will be Real Madrid’s attacking partners the following season. Even though Spain did not win (3-3), fans in the stands at the Bernabeu have reason to be optimistic about their terrifying trident in the near future.
In this friendly, Spain led 2-0, but Brazil rallied to tie the game 2-2. In the last minutes, the European side led 3-2, but Lucas Paqueta tied the game 3-3. It is worth noting that Spain received two questionable penalties, for which Selecao players complained to the referee.
The first 45 minutes were stressful, with Spain dominating the game and threatening Bento’s goal, taking advantage of Nico Williams and Yamal’s raids. The 16-year-old striker scored the home team’s first goal after 9 minutes. Joao Gomes hauled down Yamal in the box, and Rodri scored the penalty.
Spain continued to dominate Brazil, with Dani Olmo scoring the second goal. Number 10 defeated Beraldo, passing Bruno Guimaraes for a spectacular finish.
After Rodrygo equalized, coach Dorival Junior made four substitutions, bringing in Endrick, Andre, Andreas Pereira, and Yan Couto. As a result, Endrick soon equalized, 2-2.
When Spain was handed a second penalty, it appeared that they would win, but Brazil responded in kind. Galeno was fouled by Carvajal in the penalty area, and Paqueta scored from 11 metres.
