Toni Kroos will continue at Real Madrid for another season, until Summer 2025, rather than leaving for free at the end of the current season.
This information was shared by transfer news analyst Fabrizio Romano. According to Romano, Kroos and Real Madrid have reached an agreement to continue working together, and all we have to do now is wait for the formal statement from the Royal Spanish side.
Kroos, 34, moved to Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2014 for a fee of under 25 million euros. The German midfielder has made 455 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 28 goals and providing 96 assists. Kroos has won every major trophy with Real Madrid, including three La Liga crowns, four Champions Leagues, and four FIFA Club World Cups.
Despite his reduced impact, Kroos remains a crucial component in coach Carlo Ancelotti’s tactical approach. Kroos is a frequent starter among Real Madrid’s brilliant young midfielders, having made 38 appearances across all competitions this season.
The outstanding performance in the German national team’s colors in two recent friendly matches demonstrates that Kroos is not out of time; in fact, “the older the ginger, the spicier it gets”. Previously, there was speculation that the former Bayern Munich star could depart the Bernabeu for free this summer once his contract expired. However, this will not happen.
When asked about his future recently, Kroos said: “It’s a decision I’ll have to make in the next one or two months. I always tell you the truth, and I don’t know. A lot of people want me to remain another year, which is a good sign. I feel okay, but I haven’t decided yet.”
