At the FedEx St. Jude Championship Pro-Am, Boston Celtics player Jon Rahm and NBA sensation Jayson Tatum were both present. Tatum made his first participation in a PGA TOUR pro-am despite his long history of golfing. Since Tatum knew Rahm would be playing alongside him, he confessed to being anxious and having trouble sleeping the night before the game.
We were able to speak with 6-foot-11-inch forward Tatum about his golf bag setup for his upcoming pro-am at Memphis’s TPC Southwind.
Because of his abnormally huge hands, Tatum uses extra-large grips, which is noticeable. According to his stepfather/caddie, he is still trying out new PXG irons, plays a mixed set of irons, and has a baby blue Jordan brand golf bag with his “JT” badge. He also has a personalized Scotty Cameron TourType SSS putter, which he calls “Deuce” after his son Jayson Jr. Even Tatum’s Titleist “Big Deuce” golf ball bears his signature.
