Has Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid participated in Thursday’s shootaround?
After a day off for travel on Wednesday, the Philadelphia 76ers are preparing for a road matchup against the Miami Heat on Thursday night.
Following their victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday, the Sixers are once again uncertain about the playing statusof their All-Star center, Joel Embiid. The initial injury report from the Sixers lists Embiid as questionable. After Tuesday’s game, Embiid mentioned that his availability in future games would depend on how his body responds to practices and games.
The morning shootaround session in Miami could provide more clarity on Embiid’s status for Thursday’s game. According to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Embiid was present at the shootaround, which is a positive sign.
However, it’s worth noting that shootaround availability doesn’t always indicate a player’s playing status. In the previous Tuesday shootaround at home, Embiid didn’t participate and was initially ruled out on the injury report. However, the Sixers later upgraded him to questionable and cleared him for action after he went through pregame workouts.
In the game against the Thunder, Embiid had an impact with 24 points, six rebounds, and seven assists in 29 minutes of play. Despite his performance, he acknowledged that there is still work to be done during the remaining games of the season.
The Sixers’ game against the Heat will start at 7:30 PM ET, and Embiid’s availability remains unclear at the moment.
