Vinicius Jr., a star player for Real Madrid and Brazil, has been appointed as the newest global ambassador for Pepsi. The series, which Art of Football collaborated on, alludes to the brand’s early 2000s football advertisements.
Pepsi and football share a rich and sentimental history, owing to more than two decades of renowned football advertisements. International football players, such as David Beckham, David Henry, Lionel Totti, Roberto Carlos, and, of course, Ronaldinho, will traverse medieval battlefields, train stops, and other locations en route. Despite featuring numerous celebrities, talented individuals, and visitors, the most recent television advertisement, “Nutmeg Royale,” pays homage to the brand’s most enduring early commercials. In remembrance of that event which transpired two decades ago, Pepsi collaborated with football celebrities to produce a collection that served as an ideal introduction to Vinicius Jr. as the organization’s newest global brand ambassador. The Golden Cabane collection, introduced the year prior to the Pepsi x [AoF] collection, featured items in the vintage style that paid homage to the renowned football competition initiated by Pepsi two decades ago. Included in the assortment of accessories featuring two or more brands are shoulder purses, bucket hats, and tote bags. A replica of Pepsi’s football jerseys from the early 2000s completes the ensemble. Those with keen vision may have noticed the new jersey in the “Nutmeg Royale” advertisement, which paradoxically features the legendary Ronaldinho in action once more.
