Adidas continues to dominate the football boot market and has extended its lead over Nike. They recently announced the release of the Predator 24 boot, commemorating the 30-year legacy of this iconic footwear. The Predator 24 combines elements of various popular models such as the Touch, Accelerator, Powerswerve, X, Adipower, and Mutator, giving a modern twist to a classic design.
Jude Bellingham has been chosen as the face of these boots and is rumored to be getting his own logo. The re-release of the Predator boots led many to believe that Adidas was leaving Nike behind. Confirming this notion, Adidas has now signed Manchester United midfielder Casemiro, who previously had a long-standing association with Nike since his professional debut in 2011. Casemiro started out wearing CTR 360s before switching to Nike Phantom.
However, he has now made the switch to Adidas Predators and debuted them in a match against Aston Villa. Nike has been focusing on cost-cutting measures, aiming to save $2 billion over the next three years. Casemiro joins a growing list of players who have transitioned from Nike to Adidas, including Lisandro Martinez, Ousmane Dembele, Lamine Yamal, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Casemiro took to social media to confirm his partnership with Adidas, posting a picture of himself with his new boots and captioning it: “Ready to redefine history. Ready for Predator.” Adidas responded to his post, welcoming him to the Adidas family with the comment: “Welcome to the /// fam irmao” (brother).
The specific details of Casemiro’s deal with Adidas have not been disclosed, but he is expected to feature in future campaigns and advertisements for the brand.
