Manchester City clandestinely arranged a rendezvous with Mbappe’s agentPSG’s star striker has informed PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his desire to leave the club this summer. However, a day before that, officials from Manchester City secretly held discussions with one of the representatives of the French forward, moving faster than any other potential suitor for Mbappe.
(EPL) – Star player Erling Haaland missed several opportunities in the match where Manchester City drew 1-1 with Chelsea at Etihad Stadium, but coach Pep Guardiola did not blame the Norwegian striker.
Real Madrid remаins the most formidable competitor for Manchester City as the Spanish club has long been Mbappe’s preferred destination, with his contract with PSG set to expire in June. On numerous occasions, Real Madrid has shown interest in bringing Mbappe to the Bernabeu. It is widely known that Real Madrid has been pursuing Mbappe for the past seven years, but they have faced disappointment as the forward continuously changed his mind.
Last summer, PSG wаnted Mbappe to extend his contract until 2025, but later decided to exclude him from the team after he declined to sign for another year. The situation worsened when PSG barred Mbappe from participating in the club’s tour of Japan and removed him from all promotional materials.
As tensions escalated, PSG accused Mbappe of causing “long-term paralysis to the club” and expressed disappointment that he did not treat the team better, considering the goodwill and “unprecedented” offers extended to him.
While it is certain that Mbappe will leave PSG, his future remаins uncertain. However, Spanish radio station Cadena SER recently revealed that Manchester City secretly met and held discussions with one of Mbappe’s representatives in Manchester. Cadena SER reported that three main representatives of Mbappe are currently making decisive moves regarding his future.
Nevertheless, Real Madrid still holds a favorable position in signing Mbappe. The issue of the French player’s salary, which amounts to £21.4 million per year after taxes in Paris, is no longer a concern as Real Madrid is willing to maintain their previous wage structure without breаking it. Real Madrid is also prepared to make Mbappe the highest-paid player in the club, surpassing the £10.3 million per season paid to Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior. They are also willing to pay a transfer fee of around £85.5 million and negotiate a percentage of Mbappe’s image rights.
Mbappe’s mother, Fayza Lamari, who is also his representative, hopes that Real Madrid will offer her son a higher percentage than the usual 50-50 split between the club and the player, and club president Florentino Perez may consider accommodating this request.
The question now is whether Manchester City can offer a higher sum than Real Madrid for Mbappe. However, considering that the French forward previously turned down an opportunity to speak with Al Hilal, it shows that money may not be his primary motivation. Manchester City can only persuade Mbappe with the prоspect of competing on all fronts and winning titles if he joins the prestigious English club.
