LeBron James, the renowned father of Bronny James, graced the NBA draft combine on Wednesday to witness his son’s basketball prowess firsthand. Adorned in a sleek black hoodie, LeBron took his place in the second row to observe Bronny’s second and final scrimmage of the combine.
Throughout Bronny’s games at Southern California last season, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, accompanied by his wife and daughter, were regular spectators. LeBron James has expressed his desire to one day team up with his son on the basketball court. As a four-time MVP and four-time NBA champion, LeBron recently concluded his 21st season and may become a free agent if he chooses to opt out of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, following a season-ending loss to Denver, he noted that he hasn’t given much thought to the prospect of playing alongside his son.
Bronny James is currently contemplating whether to embark on a professional basketball career after a single season in college. He declared for the draft and entered the transfer portal on April 5.
Initially considered one of the nation’s most promising prospects, Bronny chose to stay close to home and committed to USC in May last year, following his time at Sierra Canyon School in nearby Chatsworth. However, an unforeseen twist occurred last summer when he experienced cardiac arrest due to a congenital heart defect during a basketball workout at USC. This medical condition required surgery and caused him to miss the first month of the season. Despite the setback, Bronny managed to contribute an average of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 25 games for the Trojans.
