Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks’ star, has quite the support system.

In addition to basketball fans, who lovingly refer to the NBA star as the “Greek Freak,” Antetokounmpo’s three children and fiancée, Mariah Riddlesprigger, are among his staunchest admirers.

While little is known about the couple’s early days together, the NBA champion and fashion entrepreneur are now a family of five, having welcomed sons Liam Charles and Maverick Shai in 2020 and 2021, respectively, and daughter Eva Brooke in 2023.

Antetokounmpo and Riddlesprigger are a powerhouse in the charity community. They established the Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation in 2022 to support NGOs in Milwaukee and around the world.

“I feel like it’s even more of a blessing because we get to do this together, it’s a partnership and I have a very good partner,” Antetokounmpo told CBS in October 2023, speaking about his wife.

So, who is Giannis Antetokounmpo’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Mariah Riddlesprigger and her relationship with the basketball player.

She’s the founder of a clothing brand

In May 2021, Riddlesprigger created her own clothing company. Sincerely, Mariah, a loungewear line inspired “by all of the remarkable people” she’s met over the years. During an interview with the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune, Riddlesprigger revealed that she began working on the brand while Antetokounmpo was still in the NBA.

“I was like, this is something I need to do for me, I know this will help me feel more like me again,” she shared, reflecting on how she was struggling with feeling isolated amid the COVID-19 pandemic in addition to being a new mom.

While Riddlespringer hopes her collection will help spread positivity — the pieces are embroidered with messages like “undeniably worthy” and “unapologetically me” — she also wanted it to reflect her own wardrobe.

“It’s stuff you can wear around the house, you can wear just running to the store,” she told the publication. “I’m big on comfort. If you see me around Milwaukee, I’m most likely in yoga pants or sweats and a sweatshirt. That’s my go-to, so I don’t want to stray too far from who I am.”

Riddlesprigger celebrated the feat with many Instagram postings, including a heartfelt homage to Antetokounmpo, whom she thanked for pushing and supporting her throughout the process. “His words resonated with me and they’re the reason I did not give up when I was tired, or when I got bored or wrapped up in motherhood and my personal issues,” the caption read. “Whenever I wanted to wave the white flag, I imagined his thick, endearing accent challenging me to be the best version of myself.” Giannis, thank you for believing in me, inspiring me and simply being you!”

Antetokounmpo also celebrated the brand’s launch on his Twitter, writing, “sincerelymariah.com has launched! I’m so proud of you babe 🤎 @mariahdanae15.”

On February 11, 2020, the couple welcomed Liam, their first son together. Liam is frequently spotted cheering on Antetokounmpo during his games alongside Riddlesprigger, and he was even present to celebrate his father’s win when the Bucks won the NBA championship in July 2021.

Riddlesprigger took to Instagram in September 2021 to announce that she and Antetokounmpo had welcomed their second child. The pleased parent tweeted a heartwarming snapshot of Liam kissing his newborn brother, stating in the caption, “My boys .” Being your mother is my greatest delight! I hear it’s National Sons’ Day, and I’ll use any opportunity to congratulate you two little sour patch kids!”

A few months later, she announced the name of their second son on Instagram: Maverick Shai Antetokounmpo.

In February 2023, Riddlesprigger celebrated Liam’s third birthday with a beautiful Instagram post. She provided a cute photo of the boy playing with a basketball, another of him sitting on a chair, and a shot of Liam and his sibling welcoming their father. “To the sweetest, silliest soul,” she said in the caption. “Can I still call you my baby? HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BIG BOY. “I love you more than words can express!”

She added: “Here’s to many more paw patrol marathons and dance parties!! “

She and Antetokounmpo are engaged

After announcing the gender of their third child in September 2023, the pair hinted that they are engaged.

“Soon [I’m going] to get married to this beautiful woman next to me,” he continued, referring to Riddlespringer as his fiancée.

Riddlespringer was also seen wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger at the ceremony, but it is unknown when the couple became engaged.

She has a degree in sports management
According to her LinkedIn profile, Riddlesprigger attended Rice University in Houston, Texas, from 2010 to 2014, where she earned a degree in sports management and sociology. She interned in the NBA Summer League for two years in a row while still a student. Following graduation, she worked in basketball operations for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Riddlesprigger is a highly supportive fiancée who has been on Antetokounmpo’s side during some of his most memorable events. In 2019, she joined Antetokounmpo to the NBA Awards, where he won MVP. She and Antetokounmpo also attended the premiere of the Disney+ biopic, Rise, along with their two sons. The film is based on the true story of Giannis and his two brothers, Thanasis and Kostas Antetokounmpo, and their journey to become the first three siblings to win an NBA championship.

Riddlesprigger honored Antetokounmpo’s film on Instagram, sharing a snapshot of the two of them at the Rise premiere. “Thank you very much, Babe, for everything you do. I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, and I feel even more lucky to be holding your hand through it all! She wrote, “I love you .”

She’s a former volleyball player

Antetokounmpo isn’t the only athlete in his family. Riddlesprigger, an outside hitter, played volleyball in high school and college. During her senior year of high school, Riddlesprigger was named team captain and team MVP before going on to play volleyball at Rice University.

Antetokounmpo and Riddlesprigger share a strong desire to give back. To commemorate the birth of their second son, Maverick, in September 2021, the couple organized a diaper drive and fundraiser for the Milwaukee Diaper Mission. At the end of the week-long drive, Riddlesprigger stated that they had funded $38,000 and collected 20,000 diapers.

In 2022, they established the Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation.

“For a long period, I was struggling personally. “What do I want to do?” Riddlesprigger spoke to PEOPLE about the couple’s charity. “I’m so much more than just [Antetokounmpo’s] partner or his fiancée, and I wanted to find what I’m passionate about. I am very motivated to figure out how I can help others using our family’s platform.”

In 2023, CAFF teamed up with the Milwaukee Diaper Mission to raise $188,000 for Milwaukee families and distribute more than 30,000 diapers.

In October of that year, Riddlesprigger told CBS that discovering how much diapers cost as a first-time parent drove her to aid the project and eventually join their board.

“It’s even more needed than even I thought. Does one in every two families require diapers? “That’s a sad statistic,” she stated.

She and Antetokounmpo prioritized family time.

Even with Antetokounmpo’s hectic basketball schedule and the demands of Riddlesprigger’s business, the couple always finds time for their family. They’ve shared several cute family moments through the years on social media, including a family Halloween costume in 2021. In a shot posted to Riddlesprigger’s Instagram, Antetokounmpo dressed up as the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz while she went as Dorothy and their two sons were the Lion and the Scarecrow.

The family had another matching moment at a Milwaukee Bucks game in May 2022. Riddlesprigger and her two sons sported personalized jackets with Antetokounmpo’s name and jersey on the back as they supported him at one of his games. “We got you, always ,” Riddlesprigger captioned a shot of the whole family with their backs facing the camera.

Riddlesprigger also made an appearance in the film. She spoke about Antetokounmpo’s fierce love for his family and the impact of his dad’s death on his basketball career.

“I thought he was done,” Riddlesprigger said. “To see his fight was just absolutely amazing.”
