Family Man Giannis Antetokounmpo Boosts Greek Product Exposure Around the World by Investing in Wineries

“I am thrilled about our investment and collaboration with Elias Georgiades,” Giannis Antetokounmpo said, expressing his joy over the investment and deal. We are working together to build businesses that have a history of making wine and mineral water from the Greek soil.

The brothers have taken a little piece of Greece with them to the United States to continue their NBA careers, but they still want to spread the word about how beautiful their homeland is.

The Antetokounmpo brothers’ worldwide business portfolio, Ante Inc., will be expanding its wine range with the acquisition of Hellenic Wineries. In 2022, they bought Boutari Wineries, and more recently, they bought IOLI, a company that makes natural mineral water.

The future of Giannis, the “Greek Freak,” and the Milwaukee Bucks’ franchise seemed cloudy, and he seriously considered quitting the sport before committing to staying. He will certainly bring attention to old knowledge and traditions through his interest in Greek agrobusiness and winemaking.

The Antetokounmpo family’s involvement is much appreciated by the other investors in Hellenic Wineries. Sterner Stenhus CEO and significant winery shareholder Elias Georgiadis thanked the brothers for their investment.

“We are especially pleased to welcome the Antetokounmpo family to Hellenic Wineries, which produces and markets Boutari wines and IOLI water,” stated the CEO. “By joining forces, we will be able to pursue our strategic goal of promoting Greek products, such as wine, globally, while also boosting wine-related tourism in our country.”
