Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha have had their fourth child, Caius Chai Curry, on May 11.
“Our sweet baby boy decided to make an early arrival!!” The four-time NBA champion posted on Instagram, accompanied a photo of the newborn’s hand. He’s doing fantastic, and we’re finally settling in as a family of six! I’m very appreciative!
It’s unknown when Caius’ original due date was set, but the couple’s first three children were born in July, during the height of the NBA offseason. Riley Elizabeth, their eldest daughter, was born in July 2012, Ryan, their second daughter, three years later, and Canon, their first son, in 2018.
Stephen Curry, the son of former NBA star Dell and the brother of Charlotte Hornets reserve Seth, is entering his 16th season and is already the league’s most prolific 3-point shooter. Curry has four NBA titles, one NBA Finals MVP award, ten All-Star appearances, and two Most Valuable Player accolades.
Curry first met Ayesha as a teenager at his hometown church in Charlotte, where his father was performing. The couple eventually married in July of 2011.
The Currys are well-known for their charitable, religious, and political activities.
In fact, Stephen is already considering a political career after he retires from the NBA.
“Maybe, I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can,” Curry told CBS Mornings in March when asked if he could see himself running for President one day.
“So, if that’s the way to do it, then — I’m not going to say the presidency, but if politics is a way to create meaningful change, or if there’s another way outside of politics.”
Curry was promoting his new children’s book, I Am Extraordinary, which aims to teach children to value themselves as unique individuals.
