But growing up in Athens, he was an Olympiacos supporter, and there are photos of him attending games with his late father, Charles.

Olympiacos defeated Fiorentina in the final to win the Europa Conference League trophy. It was their first European victory since the Balkans Cup in 1963.

Olympiacos won thanks to Moroccan attacker Ayoub El Kaabi, who scored in the 116th minute of extra time. Fiorentina failed to produce an equaliser and lost the Europa Conference League final for the second time in a row. Last year, they fell 2-1 to West Ham United, with the game-winning goal coming in the 90th minute.
