Paris Saint-Germain teammates tease Kylian Mbappe about his resemblance to a teenage mutant ninja turtle.
The Paris Saint-Germain colleagues have embraced Kylian Mbappe after his high-profile loan move from Monaco. The youthful French star hasn’t, however, avoided a little friendly jabs from his new coworkers.
It all began when Mbappe’s entrance song featured a comparison to Donatello from the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles television series. The PSG players have continued to make fun of Mbappe’s likeness to the cartoon character, hence the nickname has persisted.
In the most recent incident, a video of Mbappe opening what he believed to be a costly Dior gift from his teammates has surfaced. Instead, to his joy and the gamers’ amusement, he pulled out a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mask. Specifically, Captain Thiago Silva was spotted having difficulty controlling his laughter.
It is evident that Mbappe is well-liked in the PSG locker room despite the taunts. With his first eight Ligue 1 games, the 18-year-old has contributed to eight goals, setting a torrid pace for the season. He has also scored twice in the Champions League, and on Wednesday when PSG plays Celtic, he will be looking to increase his total.
PSG’s boss, Unai Emery, may decide to rest a few starting players for the trip to Celtic Park because his team has already qualified for the Champions League knockout stages. This might provide Mbappe another chance to demonstrate his abilities and solidify his place among the most promising young players in international football.
