For its me𝚗’s autumn fashion issue, Kylian Mbappe collaborates with WSJ Magazine, his first-ever cover story for a major US newspaper. The French football player gets photographed for the occasion by photographer Gregory Harris. Edward Bowleg III styles Mbappe in the newest Dior Me𝚗 collection while doing his fashion magic on him. In an interview with Joshua Robinson, a sports writer for the Wall Street Journal in Europe, Mbappé discusses his upbringing, competitive spirit, and future goals.
“My goal has always been for people to remember my nаme,” Kylian Mbappé says of his prior self. That was a goal I had for myself. My goal has always been to leave my mark on football history. Mbappé is a living example of how certain dreams can come true. He is regarded as one of the best soccer players in the world thanks to his amazing speed, dribbling, and finishing abilities.
Kylian Mbappé had this to sаy about his innate competitiveness: “There are people who want to have fun and just enjoy things—and I respect that view.” Conversely, Mbappé readily acknowledges, “I chose this life wanting to win and wanting to be competitive. You don’t just sit on your couch every day and declare, “I want to win.” You work on it every day and develop a greater desire to succeed in whatever you do.
Following in the footsteps of football greats like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe was well aware that playing on such a global platform would inevitably bring stardom. Mbappé says, “The more famous you get, the more people want to know about you.” They want to know what kind of pyjamas you wear to bed, where you live, and what you do for fun. The border is constantly becoming thinner. Mine is tenuous at best. But things are as they are. I was prepared for what I was in for.
