Kylian Mbappe, the French national team striker, has appeared on the training pitch with a new protective face mask as France prepares to face the Netherlands.
During France’s latest training session on the morning of June 21st, Mbappe was seen wearing a new face mask featuring the French national flag. The French superstar has been wearing the protective gear after suffering a nose injury in France’s opening Euro 2024 match against Austria, which they won 1-0.
France’s manager Didier Deschamps revealed that Mbappe does not require surgery and that a custom mask has been made to allow him to play. Deschamps stated that the situation with Mbappe is very positive, but his fitness will be evaluated in more detail before the match against the Netherlands.
The coach also shared his thoughts on Mbappe’s potential availability for the Netherlands clash: “Mbappe’s nose was heavily impacted and the situation has been quite complex. But I can confirm that Kylian is feeling better, and everything is progressing positively for him to be ready for tomorrow’s match.”
The latest images of Mbappe training with the new face mask have increased the likelihood of the star striker featuring against the Netherlands.
